How to Cook Hot Dogs, Pot Roast and More
Summer is finally here. The weather has warmed up and the sun has appeared- meaning that it’s time to start barbequing! To help you get started, we’ve put together a list of some great meats to cook at home. For example, if you’re in the mood for hot dogs, try this recipe called Hensons and many others:
1) Place two metal skewers into the ground on opposite sides of your fire pit or grill
2) Wrap one hot dog around each skewer
3) Cook for 10 minutes per side
4) Remove from heat and enjoy!
It’s super easy and it tastes delicious. Plus, you can cook as many or as few hot dogs at once- the grill is big enough that everyone will be happy! And if you’re in the mood for something a little more substantial than just meat on a stick, why not try cooking pot roast?
You’ll need:
-a large metal skewer
-two potatoes
-one carrot cut into circles
-spinach leaves (optional)
-clove of garlic (optional)
Bring water to boil using your camping stove. Once boiling place vegetables inside and submerge them until cooked thoroughly. Add salt and pepper before removing from heat so they retain flavor while being eaten alongside your hot roast.
And don’t forget to get creative with your barbeque! If you’re in the mood for burgers, try making them yourself rather than purchasing pre-made patties from the grocery store; they taste better and are cheaper too! All that’s required is:
-one pound ground beef
-salt (optional)
Mix together all ingredients until they are thoroughly combined. Form into a ball before flattening it out onto aluminum foil so that it covers an area approximately half an inch thick and six inches wide. Cook on hot grill over flames or coals until cooked through, flipping regularly to ensure even cooking throughout. Add cheese if desired when removing burger from before transferring to bun.
