What to Do When You lose Your Keys
We’ve all been there – you’re rushing to get out the door and realize that you can’t find your house keys. If you don’t have a spare, it’s time to call a 24 hr locksmith or drill through the lock. But what do you do if your phone is dead or if this happens in the middle of winter?
The first thing you should try is going back to where you last remember seeing them. They’re probably somewhere nearby- they might have fallen behind furniture, slipped down between cushions, or been left on a table. If it’s not there and that location doesn’t lead anywhere else, try retracing your steps from when you got home until now. One more trick: look for bright metal objects like coins and keys underneath light sources such as lamps!
Make sure to ask around if someone found or saw them- someone might have seen you drop them and picked up by mistake. Call a family member if they have a spare key, or call a locksmith if you don’t.
If all else fails, it’s time to drill through the lock and replace it with a new one. This is an expensive option but necessary for many people who can’t find their keys in time before work begins again tomorrow morning! Find a reliable locksmith who will be able to get the job done quickly.
Visit your local hardware store to purchase replacement door locks so that when you do finally get home later tonight, you’re ready to go!
